We announce the death of Steven Paul Retterath of Waterloo, Iowa, who passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 62. Steven will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Retterath and Nancy Retterath (Myers). He is survived by: his wife Candi Retterath of Waterloo; his daughters, Caitlin Gielau (Tyler) of Waverly, Alyssa Retterath (Brad Shanks) of Nora Springs, Breanna Peters (Bill) of Aplington and April Murray (Rob Burnell) of Waterloo; his grandchildren, Leo, Caroline Gielau, Brody, Paxton, Evalynn Peters and Bryce Murray; his pet Dallas; his brothers, Rick Retterath (Lora) of Cedar Falls and Mike Brookins of Waterloo; his nieces and nephews, Brayton Retterath, Trevor, Taylor Sells, Wynnter Jensen and Taylor Brookins (Kate); his aunt Diane; and his uncle Dan Weaver.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Prairie Lakes Church (1907 Viking Rd, Cedar Falls, IA 50613).
