He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Eugene Schmidt and Rhuella Mae Pavey Schmidt; and his siblings, James "Jim" Fisher and Sandra Burk. He is survived by: his wife Karen Ann Ecklund; his daughter Robyn Dodd (Donald); his grandsons, Travis Dodd and Alexander Dodd; and his siblings, Karen Lovell (Pete) of Caryl and Robert "Bob" Schmidt (Shelley). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Tom would be happy to know that donations were made in his name to The Boy Scouts of America, Special Olympics of Iowa, or Exceptional Persons, Inc (EPI) of Waterloo, IA.
