He was predeceased by : his parents, Adolph F. Hippen and LaVae V. Hippen (Staley); and his brother Ronnie Dinzy (Michael Hippen). He is survived by : his sisters, Colleen Gates, Charlene Surly (Marvin) and Carlene Hippen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Hagerman Baptist Church (1105 Knoll Ave, Waterloo, IA 50701). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
