He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Sr. Busta and Elizabeth Busta (Heley); and his siblings, Edward Busta Jr., Walter Busta, Lorraine Panos (Ed), Gladys Balik (Richard) and Elizabeth "Bets" Busta.

He is survived by : his wife Karen Busta of Waucoma, IA; his sons, Kevin Busta of West Union, IA and Tom Busta (Suzanne) of Adel, IA; his grandchildren, Morgan, Brynn and Dylan Busta; his daughter Cindy Busta of Waverly, IA; his grandchildren, J. C. Busta and Bryson Jacque; his granddaughter-in-law Barb Weigel (Joe) of Cedar Falls, IA; his great grandchildren, Noah, Alex Weigel and Sharon Collins (Troy) of Waverly, IA; his siblings, Arnold Busta (Sandy) of Lawler, IA, Jim Busta (Mary Lou) of Onalaska, WI and Darlene Gebel of New Hampton, IA; his sisters-in-law, Geraldine Busta of Lawler, IA and Angie Busta of Ft. Atkinson, IA.; and also, Jenna and Kyrie Collins.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Luke Catholic Church (215 E Main St, St Lucas, IA 52175-1221). A rosary was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
