Adeline Marie Losh Downey Obituary
We announce the death of Adeline Marie Losh Downey of Waukee, Iowa, who passed away on August 29, 2026, at the age of 98. Adeline will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Thomas Forret and Mary Irene Forret; her husbands, C. Wayne Losh and John Downey; and her siblings, Grace Merical (Dillon), Bernice Quinn (Joseph), Janet Mullen (Thomas), William Forret (Doris) and Francis Forret (June).
She is survived by: her stepchildren, Michael Downey (Audrey), Mary Rose Weiland (Duane), Edward Downey (Joanj), Robert Downey (Susan) and Anne Dols (Joseph). She is also survived by 35 nieces and nephews, and now has 24 step-grandchildren with one deceased, 42 step-great-grandchildren.
But while quarantined in her apartment for months during COVID, she learned through a window and with phone instructions from family to use her iPad that she had put in storage.
Donations may be made in Adeline's name for mission projects at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Waukee, Iowa.
