He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson Carroll and Elizabeth Spencer; and his brothers, Nelson Carroll Jr. and Jack Spencer. He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his children, Denise Guerra (Manny) of Des Moines, Dea Rae Waters of Des Moines, David Spencer (Margie) of Urbandale and Dan Spencer (Darynda) of Macomb, MO; and his brothers, Gary Spencer (Rita) of Ankeny and Tony Spencer (Dellaine) of Panora. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Westown Parkway (3601 Westown Pkwy, West Des Moines, IA 50266). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the New Hope Assembly Church (4425 70th St, Urbandale, IA 50322).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Exodus51 in Dallas Center through New Hope Assembly of God.
