It is with sadness that the passing of Margaret Joyce Larkin of Waukee, Iowa is shared. Margaret, born on June 24, 1934 in Galesburg, Illinois, passed away on August 2, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Margaret will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Margaret by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Margaret is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Margaret’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Ostrander and Margaret Ostrander (King); and her husband Dick. She is survived by: her children, Dan Larkin (Dawn), Meg Larkin (Burke Shethar), Pete Larkin, Anne Larkin and Pat Larkin (Barbara). She is also survived by grandchildren; and nine treasured great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dowling Catholic High School or AHeinz57 Pet Rescue & Transport in honor of Dode's lifelong commitment to education, community, and the animals she loved.
