It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dawn Roney of Waukon, Iowa, born in Postville, Iowa, who passed away on October 5, 2023, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Walter James and Dorothy Jean Gelo (Barr); her sister Linda (Dwayne Johnson); her sister-in-law Connie Gelo; and her nephew Rhett Gelo.

She is survived by : her husband Dale Roney of Waukon; her children, Kari Roney of Waukon and Austin Roney (Kristy) of Waukon; her grandsons, Lincoln and Grant Roney; her siblings, Shelby Erickson (Edwin) of Apple Valley, MN, Larry Gelo (JoAnn) of Waukon, Gordon Gelo (Jennifer) of Duluth, MN, Kristie Roeder (Paul) of Waukon and Jim Gelo (Cathy) of Postville; and her pet Milo. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
