He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Kermit Fosaaen Sr. and Marion Fosaaen (Mundt); his sisters, Lynn Fosaaen, Nancy Fosaaen and Sandy Schulz; and his mother-in-law Marlene Engstrom.

He is survived by: his wife Christine Engstrom; his children, Kris Rausch (Ben) and Blake Fosaaen (Melissa); his grandchildren, Lena, Theo, Jeremiah and Rosella Rausch; his father-in-law Duane Engstrom; his brothers, Stan Fosaaen (Bach) and Randy Fosaaen (Jane); his brothers-in-law, Dave Schulz, Peter Engstrom (Carole) and Rolf Engstrom; and his former wife Patty Nordheim. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Veterans Memorial Hospital, St. John's Lutheran Church, Stavanger Lutheran Church, or the Waukon Swim Club.
