She was predeceased by: her parents, George Carroll and Vivian Carroll (Erding); her brother John "Jerry" Carroll; and her former husband John Anthony Hawes. She is survived by: her children, Michael Hawes (Gail) of Fairfield, OH, Maureen Bigelow (Paul) of Rochester, MN, Brian Hawes (Allison) of Hillsborough, NJ, Brenda Hostager (Mark) of Dubuque, IA and Tom Hawes of Blue Mounds, WI; her stepchildren, Christopher Hawes (Angelina) of Bloomingdale, IL and Shawn Hartung (Matt) of San Diego, CA; her grandchildren, Travis (Traci Strunk), Brandon, Evan Hawes, Mariah (Matt Krueger), Nathan (Caitlyn), J. P. Bigelow (Ariel Kubal), Ashlynn, Carrick, Teagan, Lorcan Hawes, Jack, Heather, Shaelyn and Scott Hostager; and her great grandchild Finn Bigelow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Jane Hawes to the Wexford Foundation, St. Patrick Catholic Church or school in Waukon, or the Lansing Iowa Food Trust.
