With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Les Winters of Waukon, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his mother Evelyn Winters (Decker); his friends, Barney, Dayton, Craig, Ronnie, Jerry and Gary; his parent Shirley Schwartzhoff; his grandparents, Carl, Abigail Winters, Harold and Mildred Decker; his uncle Robert Fish; and his nephew Jason Neuman.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn; his children, Travis Winters, Amanda Winters (Lloyd Stegen), Stacy Yager (Seth) and Thomas Winters (Samantha); his grandchildren, Henry "Buckshot" Lane Stegen and Mara "Little Sweetheart" Jo Winters; his cat Chubs; and his siblings, Raymond Winters (Carlean Lange), Kate Winters, Barbara Hill (Marvin "Butch"), Steve Schwartzhoff (Angie), Christine Schwartzhoff (Mark Hoppenjan), Mark Schwartzhoff (Sally), Pat Schwartzhoff (Kristine), Larry Schwartzhoff (Katie), Dana Fish (Jason), Nicole Read (Ben) and Bonnie Schwartzhoff. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Veterans Memorial Hospital, VMH Ambulance Service, or VMH-Community and Home Care.
