Merrill R. Jacobs Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Merrill R. Jacobs of Waukon, Iowa, who passed away on May 2, 2026 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jake Jacobs and Leola Jacobs (Pals); his wife Marlys; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Grandy (Alice) and Milton Grandy.
He is survived by: his children, Joan Schmidt (Scott), Stuart (Theresa), Trent (Lori), Hope Runge (Brian) and Lane (Abby); his grandchildren, Amber, Justin, Thayer, Bren, Ryan, Danyce, Kelsey and Renee; his stepgrandchildren, Carrie and James; his brother-in-law Alvin Schroeder (Arlyce); his nieces, Angela Schroeder and Amy Terrill (Lantz); and his nephew Andy Schroeder (Leann). He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
Memorials can be made to Veterans Memorial Hospital or Oakland Cemetery for perpetual care both in Waukon.
