He is survived by: his wife Mary Schmidt; his sons, Dean Schmidt (Amy) and Aaron Schmidt (Kristin); his grandchildren, Andy, Alex, Tyler, Ben and Evie; and his sisters, Rhoda Braunschweig (David) and Dorothy Lindstrom (Dewey).
