She was predeceased by: her parents, William Buhrow and Mathilda Buhrow (Bartels); her husband Harlan Platte of John's Lutheran Church; and her siblings, Lloyd Buhrow, Arlene Meyer, Ray Buhrow, Verna Schoof and Ruth Grawe.

She is survived by: her children, David of Waverly, Paul of St. Petersburg and Ann of Waverly; her grandchildren, Ryan Benschoter (Cassie) of Waverly, Allison Hoffman (Ryan) of Charlotte, Maggie Mackey of Waverly and Berkeley Platte of Nashville, Tennessee; and her great grandchildren, Hayden, Connor Benschoter, Hailey, Rhett Mackey, Bennett and Margot Hoffman. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to either St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
