She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley Surma and Grace Surma (Mantel); her former husband Douglas Toay; and her father-in-law Dr. Vern Bladon. She is survived by: her daughters, Meredith Brown (Mark) of Waverly and Mara Hoppenworth (Jordan) of Riverdale, IA; her grandchildren, GraceAnn Lisbeth, Rosalina Jane, Isla Marie, Theodore Douglas and Isabella Mae Brown; her siblings, Carl Surma of Doon, IA, Mary FitzGibbon (John) of Sioux Falls, SD, Eva Lowerre of North Haven, ME, Amy Surma of Creston, IA and Joe Surma (Patti) of Waterloo, IA; her aunts, Lois Elzinga and Marty Mantel; and her child-in-law Rene Bladon of Bella Vista, AR. She is also survived by numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
