He was predeceased by: his parents, Wiiliam G. Striepe and Lorraine B. Striepe (Kienitz); his brother Paul Striepe; and his sister-in-law Janice Striepe. He is survived by: his wife Jan Striepe of Waverly; his children, Mark Striepe (Karin) of Green Valley, Arizona, Meg Striepe (Greg Hauck) of Sudbury and Beth Stanley (Ed) of Rochester, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Kate Striepe, Emma, Evan Hauck, Jack and Sam Stanley; and his siblings, Lois Niewohner (Edward) of Tucson and Jim Striepe of Athens, Georgia..

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church and School, Wartburg College, or Lutheran World Relief.
