He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd L. Doolittle and Lottie B. Doolittle (Morrison); his wife Shirley A. Juhl of Webster County; his parents-in-law, Chris and Esther Juhl; his son James J. Doolittle; his son-in-law Emmett J. Cooney; his siblings, Max Doolittle (Marilyn) and Lois Radoff; and his siblings-in-law, Norman Juhl (Louise) and Beverly Ostlund (John).
He is survived by: his children, Kristin Cooney of Duncombe, Polly Doolittle (Ladd Ventling) of Webster City, Dan Doolittle (Vicki) of Webster City and Tricia Bird (Bill) of Onawa, IA; and his grandchildren, Tom Cooney (Nicky), Megen Johnson (Craig), Jim Doolittle (Mariah) and Libby Anderson (Ethan). He is also survived by nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandsons; nieces and nephews; family and cherished friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church (1229 Kathy Ln, Webster City, IA 50595). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
