He was predeceased by: his parents, Corneilus OKones (Neil Sr) and Matilda OKones (Sietsema); his brother Lee; and his siblings-in-law, Glenda Okones and Gene Ruter.
He is survived by: his wife Janice; his children, Jeffery Okones (Marsha) of Conrad, Susan Kucera (Brian) of Ames and Jacalyn McKenzie (John) of Riverside, Iowa; his grandchildren, Jake Okones (Marie), Jenessa Bengen (Brett), Nicole Harvey (Joe), Bryant Kucera (Julie), Austin Jaspers (Claire), Jay Jaspers (Mikayla) and Anna Goble (Andrew); his great grandchildren, Calvin, Grant Okones, Brock, Avery, Payton Bengen, Jordan, Neilan Harvey, Kennedy, Bennett Kucera, Alice Jaspers, Jack and Karter Jaspers; and his sister Thelma Ruter of Wellsburg, Iowa. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
