With sadness, we share the passing of Katie G. Schultz of West Burlington, Iowa. Katie, born on February 26, 1935, passed away on September 24, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parent Heinrich Schwantje; her spouse Rev. Glenn A. Schultz; her brother Hans; and her sister-in-law JoAnn Schwantje of Woodstock, Georgia.. She is survived by: her parent-in-law Mathilde Wehlau; her children, Dr. Barbara Shivapour of Burlington, Lori LaFayette (Jack) of Wapello, Darrell Schultz (Teri) of Aledo and Brian Schultz (Amy) of Trophy Club, Texas; her grandchildren, Dr. Daniel Shivapour (Jill) of Clive, Dr. Sara Shivapour of Ames, Christopher Schultz (Samantha) of New York, Stephanie Myers (David) of Norman, Brady Bowles and Natalie Justice (Brenna) of Johnston, Iowa.; and her great grandchildren, Alex and Will Shivapour Atlas Myers (Justin).
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Messiah Lutheran Church (2411 West Ave, Burlington, IA 52601). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
A memorial has been established in her memory for Messiah Lutheran Church for mission work in Liberia, Africa.
