He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Moad and Frances Moad (Renner); his wife Sharon K. Swailes; and his sister Evelyn "Sissy" Owlsey. He is survived by: his children, Marc Moad (Nicolette) of West Burlington, Judith Moad of Palm Bay, FL and Patty Rachowicz (Marcus) of Burlington; his grandchildren, Alexandra, Eden, Adriana, Anthony Moad, Morgan and Mason Rachowicz; and his siblings, Roy Moad (Marcy) of Idaho, Russell Moad (Marilyn) of Arizona and Victoria Korschgen of Texas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established in his memory for the Iowa State University Extension Center for Des Moines County.
