Ronald Butler Obituary
We are sad to announce that on May 16, 2026, at the age of 93, Ronald Butler in West Burlington, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Ronald leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Ronald may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Butler and Lucille Butler (Curran). He is survived by: his wife Retha Phillips-Kimmitt; his children, Kelli Miller (Rick), Sheri Schagel, Rick Kimmitt (Diane) and Brenda Wyss (Tom); and his brother Terry Butler (Pamela).
A funeral service was held on Sunday, May 17th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Centenary United Methodist Church of Morning Sun (106 E Division St, Morning Sun, IA 52640). A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Centenary Morning Sun Methodist Church (106 E Division St, Morning Sun, IA 52640).
Memorials in Bill's name may be made to the Southeast Iowa Hospice House or to the Morning Sun Ambulance Department.
