He was predeceased by: his parents, Oral "Red" Martin and Agnes Martin (McMullen); and his grandson Quinn Martin. He is survived by: his wife Judy Martin; his children, Joshua Martin (Mindi), Matthew Martin (Amber), Zachary Martin (Lizzie), Scott Hagenkord (Susan), Jill Hagenkord, Cari Pendroy (David) and Joy Hagenkord; and his former wife Suzie Martin. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lutheran Church of Hope (925 Jordan Creek Pkwy, West Des Moines, IA 50266). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent directly to the West Des Moines Fire Department – 318 5th Street, West Des Moines, IA 50265; Puppy Jake Foundation, an organization that trains service dogs for veterans; or to Lutheran Church of Hope.
