She was predeceased by: her parents, Russell Mowen and Doris Mowen of Maxwell, Iowa.; her husband Everett Swalwell (Frank Hughes); her son Rick Swalwell (Theresa Rupp-Swalwell); her stepdaughter Kathy Hughes Custer; her stepson-in-law Bob Lamote; and her siblings, George Mowen, Bobbie Purdue and Virginia Henricksen.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Garcia (Jose), Ron Swalwell (Ann), Randy Swalwell (Dave Waggoner) and Kim Swalwell (Terri Davisson); her daughter-in-law Karen Novak Swalwell; her stepchildren, Helen Hughes Lamote and Tom Hughes (Rosemary); and her stepson-in-law Todd Custer. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren.
