He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon VanderSchoor and Matilda VanderSchoor (Dykstra); his siblings, Linda Ellis (Chuck) and Verne VanderSchoor; and his grandson Zachary VanderSchoor.
He is survived by: his children, Todd VanderSchoor (Stacey), Melissa Jacoby (Michael), Jenny Phabmixay (Zach), Scott VanderSchoor (Ashley) and Ashley Lopez (Eric). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
