Fern Oman Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Fern Oman of West Des Moines, Iowa, born in Frederika, Iowa, who passed away on May 10, 2025 at the age of 103. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Fern Oman to pay them a last tribute.
As we bid adieu to Fern's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Fern has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Grover and Nellie Breda Grover. She is survived by: her sons, David and Mark (Jill); her grandchildren, Alexandra Bogenreif (Kevin) of Ames, Christopher of McLean, VA, Scott (Mackenzie) of Fort Worth, TX and Graham of Phoenix, AZ.; and her great grandchildren, James and Katherine. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church (2812 Willow Ln, Cedar Falls, IA 50613).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Robert and Fern Oman scholarship fund at the University of Northern Iowa or St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls.
