He was predeceased by: his parents, William Degner and Pauline Degner (Paulsen); his wife Delores (Meighan); and his sisters, Gertrude Mikes, Ruth Gruenberg, Evelyn Hunt, Lurline O'Day and Luella Gitch.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Haugen of Waukee, IA, Dennis Degner of Pattaya and Daryl Degner; his grandchildren, Dylan Degner and Ciara Fangmann (Alex); his great grandchildren, Oliver, Mariella and Theodore; his stepgranddaughter Meagan; and his sibling's children, Karen Ellsworth, Don Gitch, Carla Mikes, Aaron O'Day, Paula O'Day, Bernard Snyder, Joann Snyder, Stacey Paulson, Zepha Monks, Susanne Peterson, Peggy Nelsen, Roger Stickley, Jackey Meighan, Mary Day, Duane Meighan, Mike Meighan and Pat Meighan.
