James Phelan Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Phelan (West Des Moines, Iowa), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 6, 2025 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though James may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
He is survived by: his wife Margo; his children, Ryan and Amy; his grandchildren, Hannah and Cooper; and his siblings, Dan Phelan and Paula Siegel.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Westown Parkway (3601 Westown Pkwy, West Des Moines, IA 50266). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Kelleher Airbnb Farmhouse (1658 N River Trail, Winterset, IA 50273).
