She was predeceased by: her parents, Gene Townsend and Maureen Townsend (Yeakel); her former husband Scott Dawson; and her husband Gerry Scott. She is survived by: her son Zach Dawson; her granddaughter Sophia Dawson; her sisters, Jill Tompkins (Don) of Iowa City and Jan Haley (James) of Dallas, Texas; Charles Scott (Deb), Todd Scott (Shari), Samuel Scott (Amanda) and Mary "Sandi" Diaz. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in West Des Moines.
