He was predeceased by: his mother Joanna "Jody" McCarthy (Broderick); his wife Kris McCarthy; and his mother-in-law Kathy Dorf. He is survived by: his father William "Bill" McCarthy; his siblings, Mick McCarthy (Carolyn), T. J. McCarthy (Amy) of Ankeny, Marty McCarthy (Beth) of Kansas City and Tom McCarthy (Ronda) of Windsor Heights; his father-in-law Joe Dorf of Altoona; and his brother-in-law Bill Dorf (Jen) of Ankeny. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
