He was predeceased by: his mother Peggy Young (Thomas); his grandparents, John, Frances Young, Ben and Dorothy Thomas; and his father Brad Young.
He is survived by: his wife Christi; his daughter Katie (Tanner); his grandsons, Jaxon and Kai; his brother Jeff Young (Ann); his nephews, Tyler Young (Andrea) of Nashville, TN and Nicholas Young of Overland Park, KS; his aunt Marilyn Adams of Glenview, IL; his uncle Ben Thomas of Avon, CT; his cousins, Ross and David Adams; his mother-in-law Donna Reed; his brothers, Steve Lamer (Cindy Reed), Chuck (Amanda) and Reed; and his nephew TJ Shea of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lutheran Church of Hope (925 Jordan Creek Pkwy, West Des Moines, IA 50266). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
