Joseph Sabers Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 1, 2025, at the age of 75, Joseph Sabers of West Des Moines, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Sabers and Deloras Sabers (Funke); his sibling's children, Laurie Sabers and Ron Jurgens; his great-nephew Caleb Jurgens; and his brothers-in-law, Richard Jurgens and Joe Fleming.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen; his children, A. J. (Kim), Alex (Christa), Mark (Chelsie) and Emily Godbersen (Bob); his grandchildren, Aria, Gabrielle, Austin, Colin, Margot, Van, Jay, Camryn and Demi; and his siblings, Ruth Jurgens, Lila Geers (Steve), Virginia Fleming, Loras (Jo Anne), David (Kathy) and Dan (Debbie).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (7075 Ashworth Rd, West Des Moines, IA 50266).
