He is survived by: his former wife Marilyn Martensen; his wife Annie Sweeney; his son Jeremy Sweeney; his stepchildren, Dingiswayo Chikhwaza and Hlezipe Chikhwaza; Janice. He is also survived by his six brothers and sisters and their spouses; eleven nieces and nephews and their spouses; twenty-nine great-nieces and nephews.
