It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merwin L. Bumgarner (West Des Moines, Iowa), who passed away on February 12, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Van Bumgarner and Fannie Bumgarner (Chase); his wife Elizabeth Jack; his siblings, Olin, Luella and Marge; and his son-in-law Bob Turner.

He is survived by: his children, Terri Turner, Todd Bumgarner and Wendy Falk (Scott); his grandchildren, Michael Lammers (Sara), Jeremy Misner (Megan), Aubrey Kovalak (Richard), Andy Bumgarner, Ben Falk (Elise) and Megan Vander Velde (Stuart); his great grandchildren, Colton Lambertz, Carter Lammers, Caden Misner and Finley Falk; and his sister-in-law Barbara Ponder (Bill). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Iowa Honor Flight or Retrieving Freedom Inc.
