He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Bill, Lucille Scharper and Jack Prestholt; his uncle Dave Olson; and also, Don and Leona Lanus.

He is survived by: his parents, Kevin Scharper and Jill Scharper (Prestholt); his wife Katlyn; his daughter Khloe; his brother Russell Scharper (Morgan); his grandmother Shirley Prestholt; his aunt Julie Gobeli (Tracey); his uncle Jack Jr. Prestholt (Betty); his siblings-in-law, Jeff, Nancy Loeschen and Trevor Loeschen (Jess); and also, Laurence and Violet Loeschen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Khloe's college fund.

He also took extra time away from his busy schedule to explain what my options were for care and healing. I was very impressed with him, his smile, friendliness. and caring. I thought when I walked out of my appointment that the world in general needs more Riley's. I was so sorry to hear that he had passed away so tragically. My prayers and thoughts. Robert Hejlik”
