She was predeceased by: her parents, Loren Yates and Helen Yates (McCaffrey); her sister Eileen McClintock; her brother-in-law Richard McCauley; and her grandson Doug Beckman.
She is survived by: her husband Keith O. Allen; her sister Patricia McCauley of Atlantic; her children, Debi Cox (Bruce) of Altoona, Renee Strub (Doug) of Indianola, Julie Allen of Green Valley, AZ., Shelly Powers (Jim) of Norwalk, Keith A. Allen of Des Moines and Angela Matthews of Urbandale; her grandson Derek Beckman (Lori); and her children, Tyler Strub (Tallis), Casey Strub (Stevie), Tucker Powers, Morgan Hemer (Jeremy), Brennan Powers, Tony Allen (Jenipher), Lynn Allen, CaSaundra Woods (Ryan), Amber Matthews and Joshua Matthews. She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Iles Dunn's Funeral Chapel (2121 Grand Ave, Des Moines, IA 50312). A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
