He is survived by: his mother Janet Kennedy of Le Mars, Iowa; his wife Sheila; his children, Luke and Sarah; his siblings, Tim Kennedy of Wichita, Kansas, Cyndi Cook (Guy) of Des Moines, Iowa, Jill Bunkers (Tim) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ted Kennedy (Kitty) of Lakeland, Florida, Katy Hartkemeyer (Rob) of West Des Moines, Iowa and Ned Kennedy (Angela) of Sioux Falls; his in-laws, Larry and Gayle Conger of Le Mars, Iowa; his brother-in-law Will Conger (Erin) of Johnston, Iowa; his nieces and nephews, Courtney Kennedy, Meredith Dowd (Ryan), Carter, Andrew Harvey (Mary), Mitchell Bunkers (Megan) and Cameron Vondrak (Thomas); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Isla and Jack; his nieces and nephews, Brayden Kennedy, Jordan Kennedy, Lucy Conger and Emma Conger; Blaze. He is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1627 Grand Ave, West Des Moines, IA 50265). A rosary was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
A memorial fund has been established for the Kennedy family. Contributions may be made directly to the family.
