With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Dennis A. Menke of West Point, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Dennis left this world on September 13, 2025 at the age of 81, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Linus Menke and Mary Bentler Menke (Bentler); his in-laws, Edward and Babe Schroeder Geers; his daughter-in-law Lori Wust Menke; his siblings, Diane Menke, Janice Driscoll, Martin Menke and Tommy Menke; and his siblings-in-law, Mary, Martha, Edwarda Geers, Jo Farrington, Jim Franklin, Paul Walker and Keith Klemmt.
He is survived by: his wife Kate Geers; his children, Ann Menke, Shelly Pieper (Craig), Deina Merschbrock (Dale) and Doug Menke (Cindy Lawson); and his siblings, Kathy Jham (Mo), Nancy Franklin and Keith Menke (Cheryl). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church (119 4th St, West Point, IA 52656). A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Calvary Cemetery West Point (401 7th St, West Point, IA 52656).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you continue Dennis' legacy by considering a memorial to Holy Trinity Catholic Schools.
