It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Edward Carpenter of West Point, Iowa, who passed away on August 21, 2025, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Edward D. Carpenter; his stepfather Harry Pieper; and his nephew Eric Bergman. He is survived by: his mother Louise Carpenter (Kaufman) of Fort Madison; his children, Doris Kempker of Donnellson and Wade Carpenter of Olds; his grandchildren, Will and Abby Kempker; and his sister Kelly Bergman (Carl) of West Point. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
