He is survived by: his grandson Norbert; his son Brian Box (Julie) of Oskaloosa; his grandchildren, Kassidy Smart (Rex) and Kyler Box; his son Daren Box (Beth) of Nebraska City; his grandchildren, Eric (Ania), Laura and Jenna; his son Kevin Box (Meagan) of Mediapolis; his grandchildren, Clara, Wyatt and Katie; his son Brad Box (Angie) of West Point; his grandchildren, Emily (Noah), Kayla and Nathan; his daughter Tracy Blythe (Shaun) of Mt. Pleasant; his grandsons, Dylan and Dalton (Lillie); his daughter Trisha Lake (Ryan) of Wever; his granddaughters, Ellie and Kara; his sisters, Marcella Holtkamp and Eileen Pranger (Dave); and his great grandchild Rennick Smart. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (119 4th St, West Point, IA 52656). A rosary will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 4:00 PM at the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church (119 4th St, West Point, IA 52656). A wake will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established in his memory for Calvary Cemetery or Southeast Iowa Regional Home Health and Hospice.
