He was predeceased by: his parents, John Pomberg and Marie Pomberg (Manegold); his wife Rita Grimwood; his son-in-law John Ketcham; and his granddaughter Kerri Ketcham.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Pomberg of West Point, John Pomberg (Lisa) of West Point, Linda Ketcham of Marshalltown, Iowa, Linette Boden (John) of Norwalk, Iowa and Wayne Pomberg (Angela) of Kingwood, Texas.; his grandchildren, Jeremy Pomberg, Logan Pomberg, Yolanda Aring (Joe), Robin Pomberg, Dawn Quick, Tyler Pomberg, Mikayla Pomberg, Mike Ketcham, Mark Ketcham (Natalie), Stephanie Adamoyurka (Jason), Nathan Boden (Krystal), Maria Kittle (Dakota), Andrew Boden (Hilary) and Daniel Boden; and his great grandchildren, Trevor (Emma), Derek Ketcham (Tarryn), Makenzie, Lexi Ketcham, Zoey, Jack, Cole, Rita Adamoyurka, Wyatt Boden, Isabelle, Elijah Boden, Elizabeth and Catherine Quick.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Schmitz Funeral Home (502 Avenue E, West Point, IA 52656). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 4:30 PM at the Schmitz Funeral Homes - West Point (502 Avenue E, West Point, IA 52656). A wake will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church (119 4th St, West Point, IA 52656).
