With sadness, we share the passing of Bonnie Schmitz (Westside, Iowa). Bonnie, born on August 3, 1953, passed away on August 18, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ewald Stark and Irene Stark (Schwenn); her siblings, Larry "Sod" Stark, Donald Stark and Darlene Stark; and her brothers-in-law, Denny Kamphoff and Duane Schmitz.

She is survived by: her husband Steve Schmitz of Westside; her children, Jeffrey Schmitz (Heather Rivera) of Ankeny and Sarah Hiler (Tom) of Rockwell City; her grandchildren, Braydon, Cameron, Nolan Schmitz, Sydney, Calvin, Jimmy and Henry Hiler; her sisters, Marilyn Johnson and Diana Long (Doug); and her siblings-in-law, Jackie Stark, Peg Schmitz (Jo Chinburg), Tim Schmitz, Dale Schmitz (Nancy), Sandy Kamphoff, Mary Kohorst (Oran), Tom Schmitz (Ann) and Janet Krueger (Loren). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and many other family member and friends.

Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia or Alzheimer's Association.
