David Lee Hartz Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Lee Hartz of Williamsburg, Iowa, who passed away on December 1, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As David departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though David may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy David leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Hartz and Ethel Hartz (Stanerson); his brothers, Gary Hartz and Darrell Hartz; and his sisters-in-law, Kathy Hartz, Susie Hartz and Terry Hartz.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Hartz (Jodi) of Decorah and Karla Zahradnik (Dave) of Cedar Rapids; and his brother Maurice Hartz Jr. of Marengo. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Powell Funeral Home-Williamsburg (407 N Highland St, Williamsburg, IA 52361).
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for the Eastern Iowa Bible Camp near Deep River.
