She was predeceased by: her father Ronald Dee. She is survived by: her mother Nancy Van Dee (Teggatz) of Oxford; her husband Gene Schindler; her children, Shayna Schindler of Oxford and Skyler Schindler (Amanda Brogan) of Oxford; and her grandson Jackson.

A memorial fund has been established for Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.
