He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ficken and Mary'Mamie' Ficken (Steinke); his siblings, Carl, Victor, William Ficken, Verona Schmidt and Elfrieda Folkmann; and his siblings-in-law, Louella Ficken, Lillian Ficken, Joan Schneider, Rita McDonald, Monte Meyer, Ray Folkmann, Harlan Schmidt, Arthur Johnson and Lloyd Muller.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra Lee Meyer; his children, Christine Cloeter (Richard), Michael Ficken (Margi) and Netha Schrimpf (Michael); his sisters, Lillian Johnson and Venita Muller; and his siblings-in-law, Jeanne Ficken, William McDonald and Virginia Rickard (Gary). He is also survived by six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Powell Funeral Home-Williamsburg (407 N Highland St, Williamsburg, IA 52361). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to L.I.S. Tuition Assistance Fund, Williamsburg.
