With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Eugene South (Williamsburg, Iowa), born in Audubon, Iowa, who passed away on May 21, 2022 at the age of 90. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Eugene South to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Ernest and Cecile Mae South (Parker); his wife Eileen; his son Michael; and his sister Patricia Meade (Chick).

He is survived by: his daughter Pam Wichmann of North Liberty; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Cook (Ben) of Iowa City, Megan Wichmann (Chris) of North Liberty, Alexa Wichmann (Evan) of Wellman and Ryan Wichmann (Lindsey) of Chicago, IL; his great grandchildren, Reese and Graham Cook; and his son-in-law Dennis Wichmann (Cindy) of Williamsburg. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial fund has been established for Eastern Iowa Honor Flight, Stead Family Children's Hospital or North English Community Center, Meals on Wheels Program.

“Pam and girls u have my Deepest sympathy on hearing of Buds passing into the Afterlife. He punished himself every single day since Mike passed away but can now be with him and your Mom for Eternity.. He did get to watch his Granddaughters grow into maturity and was Immensely Proud of them as well as he was of you. I humbly ask for your forgiveness when you notice that I didnt attend his Funeral because of my Sincere Emotions that I had for him as I am crying even as I type this to you.”
