He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael J. O'Meara and Agnes O'Meara (Berry); his brothers, Donald, Clement, William (Bill) and Cyril; and his nieces and nephews, Mary Jean, Colleen, Carrie, Christie and Mick.
He is survived by: his wife Irene Wetjen (Fant) of Mary's Catholic Church; his children, Sean Wetjen (Mary) and Mary Greiner (Sid); his grandchildren, Richard Wetjen (Kaylin), Charlotte Wetjen, Stetsen Greiner (Katherine), Sterling Greiner and Sawyer Greiner; his great grandchild Boyd Richard Wetjen; and his sisters, Mary Agnes Wagner and Helen Gaffey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Powell Funeral Home-Williamsburg (407 N Highland St, Williamsburg, IA 52361). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church - Williamsburg (102 E Penn St, Williamsburg, IA 52361).
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Essence of Life Hospice or Highland Ridge.
