We announce the death of Karen Sue Asbe of Williamsburg, Iowa, born in Clarion, Iowa, who passed away on July 5, 2026, at the age of 80. Karen will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Lee and Nettie Mae Assink (Christians); and her sisters, Arlys Straayer and Carmen Settles. She is survived by: her husband Gilbert Merle Asbe of Williamsburg; her children, Doug Asbe (Sara) of Cedar Rapids and Angela Holmes (Jeff) of Vinton; her grandchildren, Tyler Asbe (Mallory) of Grimes, Breanna Bullard of Solon, Hailey Asbe of Cedar Rapids and Sage Holmes of Vinton; her sisters, Avis Kaemingk (Jay) of Bellingham and Chris Lang (Allen) of Kanawha; and her brothers-in-law, Russell Straayer, Garry Settles and Duane Asbe (Louise).

Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Essence of Life Hospice in Amana.
