She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Jack and Mary Catherine Johnson (Sullivan); her husband Vito Safina; and her brother Dan Johnson. She is survived by: her children, Tony Safina of Parnell, Michael Safina (Kara) of Elk Grove, IL, David Safina (Andrea) of Huxley and Mary Ann Wehner (Todd) of Williamsburg; her grandchildren, Trevor, Lorelai, Laylah, Layahna, Lola, Jackson, Bradley, Marshall, Brynlee, Meridith, Garrus and Collette; her brother Bill Johnson (Linda) of Iowa City; and her uncle Daniel Sullivan of Iowa City.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Powell Funeral Home-Williamsburg (407 N Highland St, Williamsburg, IA 52361). A Mass will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church - North English (774 W Broad St, North English, IA 52316).
A memorial fund has been established for the W4Cs (Williamsburg Community Child Care Center).
