He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Safina and Elizabeth Safina (D'Angelo); and his brother Joseph Safina. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Johnson of Parnell; his children, Tony Safina of Parnell, Michael Safina (Kara) of Elk Grove, IL, David Safina (Andrea) of Huxley and Mary Ann Wehner (Todd) of Williamsburg; his grandchildren, Trevor, Lorelai, Laylah, Layahna, Lola, Jackson, Bradley, Marshall, Brynlee, Meridith, Garrus and Collette; and his siblings, Vita Incandela (Nuccio) of Long Island, NY, Nick Safina (Fran) of Long Island, NY and Anna Delsorbo (Bill) of Jersey.
A rosary was held on Monday, September 8th 2025 from 3:45 PM to 4:45 PM at the Powell Funeral Home-Williamsburg (407 N Highland St, Williamsburg, IA 52361). Visitation was held on Monday, September 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass was held on Tuesday, September 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church - North English (774 W Broad St, North English, IA 52316).
