He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Sterner, and Nira Sterner, Sr. (Yerington); his granddaughter Stacy; and his sisters, Bertha, Nellie, Shirley and Nina.
He is survived by: his wife Susan; his children, Harvey, Carey, Edith, Keith, Tiffany and Shelly; his siblings, Charlie and Charlene; and also Diane. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
